A few hand moves – and Bob’s your uncle!

Time and again, we were asked why there are no hand-guided continuous rotary band sealers in the polystar® range for sealing large-size monofilms. Some clients have consequently repurposed the machines from the 350 DSM series as mobile sealers, but found that they are too heavy and unwieldy for this.

So, naturally, we have come up with a solution – this nifty specimen weighing in at just 3.9 kg.

All you have to do is plug in the machine, let it heat up and set to work. Large-size pouches and bags or long strips of PE (polyethylene) film can be sealed with very little effort.

After the short warm-up phase, the polyethylene film material to be sealed is fed into the polystar® continuous rotary band sealer. The PE film is then conveyed automatically through the heating and cooling zone. Spring-mounted pressure rollers then immediately seal the film, making for a consistently high-quality seam. The polystar® continuous rotary band sealer must be moved along at a constant speed during the sealing and cooling phase. At the same time, the bag must be held straight in the region of the seam.

The speed of this polystar® machine can be set to suit the film in question – with speeds of between 1 and 10 meters per minute possible. As a general rule: the thinner the film material, the faster the sealer can be set.
