Mobile - Easy - Handy: You can reach anywhere!

Mobile: All polystar® sealing tongs come equipped with a 3 m cable. If this isn’t enough for your needs, a 6 m extension can extend the range of these tongs to a total of 9 m. The power cable of the polystar® impulse generator measures a further 3 m, giving you a maximum operating radius of 12 m.

Lightweight: The heaviest sealing tongs produced by polystar® weigh in at around 1 kg – and these are the tongs with the longest sealing jaws. Their 600 mm jaws can seal thermoplastic films, such as polyethylene (PE) film, or thin aluminium composite films.

Handy: You can hold and operate polystar® sealing tongs with just one hand. Simply squeeze the handles together to open the tongs. To close the tongs, loosen your grip on the handles and use your thumb to initiate the sealing impulse.

Of course, to use any polystar® sealing tongs you will also need the polystar® impulse generator 120 GE. When combined, the two components form a perfectly coordinated unit using the energy-efficient and thus environmentally friendly thermal impulse method. This sealing unit is also immediately ready for use once switched on and is utterly reliable. It is every bit as capable of sealing individual bags as it is gradually sealing long, unwieldy film packaging section by section in order to create a continuous seam. You have complete freedom to set the duration of the thermal impulse produced by the polystar® impulse generator.

A visual signal (light indicator) indicates that the sealing process is underway, while an acoustic error signal alerts the user that the thermal impulse was too short – helping you to seal your film packaging perfectly. The tongs’ adjustable contact pressure makes it possible to achieve consistent sealing results and rounds off the package.

In addition, we offer three different tong types:

• D tongs (standard): The heating strips and grip are positioned in a T shape. The tongs open to approx 20 mm. These tongs can seal the film at the very edge of a bag or a maximum of 25 mm in from the edge of the material.
• SFZ tongs: This model also features heating strips and grip positioned in a T shape. However, the tongs open slightly wider (approx. 25 mm) and the seam can be placed up to approx. 100 mm from the edge of the bag.
• DS tongs: In this model, the heating strips are almost an extension of the handle. This design allows the heating strips to “reach” into the material like a pair of scissors.

Important: The combination of polystar® impulse generator and sealing tongs is not suitable for sealing thicker composite films.
